When I originally started making this piece I was using Adobe Illustrator. After using Illustrator for a few days I realized that it didn’t fit my workflow and I was actually making the process more difficult for me by using it. I later used Pixlr E to restart my project, and after multiple attempts I designed the Agent Lizarus we know and love. Agent Lizarus’s backstory revolves around him being in an important meeting and a fire starting on the floor. He tried to grab something to put out the fire and ended up getting marshmallows stuck to his hands. I got inspiration from the Pokemon franchise and also a previous artwork of mine named Axomoko.
Axomoko Digital 2020
To make this artwork I used Adobe Photoshop for the drawing and Adobe Illustrator for the text. Being a digital creation, this piece can be any size when printed. In pixels this piece is 908 x 686. I named this artwork ‘Axomoko’,which is a combination of Axolotl, smoke, and inferno. I created this to give you an idea of what the Axomoko is and what looks like. It’s intention is to give a brief explanation of its background, but doesn’t go into too much detail. I originally got inspiration from the Pokemon franchise, but I turned it into something unique.
Shroomy Nights w/Kenzie Acrylics 2021 4' x 2'
Working on this piece may have had it’s rough patches, but in the end Kenzie and I both created something we enjoy. I was able to put my creative ideas on the table, while also being open to other ideas that may come up. I learned that having someone else to look over your ideas could be key to finding something even greater than what you could imagine by yourself. We decided to make this piece on a ceiling tile in the art room so that everyone else who walks in can take inspiration from it. I even took inspiration from it to make Spacial Drift, and I can’t wait to see what else this inspires people to do.
